Council Members Prof. John Ng, Mr. Ian Hau, and Mr. Ivan Ho attended the Engagement on Green Building organized by the Environment Bureau on 15 March 2013 and made the following statement.

“We at the Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design are committed to promoting "green building and low carbon living" as an important agenda for the people and future generations of HK. We believe that, as a leading competitive global city, we should include not only a discussion about infrastructure, land supply and housing - but on how quality public place can contribute to a better quality of life and social sustainability for Hong Kong people. In order to better qualify and implement these values, the City would need ‘committed institutional frameworks’ to establish greater focus, transparency and engagement of these larger commitments to the public realm.”
