Background Requirements背景要求
Submissions in all categories must include sufficient site and contextual background information. The specific constraints and challenges should be highlighted in forming the objectives, and clarification of how the submission results in innovative and sustainable urban design solutions.

Urban Design Criteria城市設計準則
Assessment of the project will be from an Urban Design perspective, and the project submissions should clearly evidence outcomes that are distinct from other professional perspectives. HKIUD defines URBAN DESIGN as the design of towns, cities and developed areas including streets and the spaces between buildings. Urban Design exhibits collaborative and multi-disciplinary processes in the means of shaping the physical and temporal setting for humanity and life. It can involve the design of buildings, clusters of buildings, spaces, and the landscape between, as well as the establishment of frameworks and procedures that aims to deliver beneficial development to societal stakeholders through time.
城市設計是城鎮、城市和發達地區的設計，包括街道和建築物之間的空間。 城市設計在塑造人類和生活的物理和時間環境方面展示了協作和多學科過程。 它可以涉及建築物、建築物群、空間和景觀之間的設計，以及框架和程序的建立，旨在隨著時間的推移為社會利益相關者帶來有益的發展。

Assessment Rubric 評估量規
Submissions must articulate and present demonstrated urban design objectives. The Jury Panel will consider the presented objectives in the context of the background information provided and assess the submissions in terms of meeting the following eight criteria: -

• Nominations under the “Completed Projects” Category must be certified complete between: - 1 August 2018 and 31 July 2023.
  已實施專案及城市介入專案的參選作品必須在2018年8月1日至2023年7月31日之間實體完成。
  
  
• Nominations under the “Planned Projects” Category must be accepted by the client commissioning the project between: - 1 August 2020 and 31 July 2023.
  概念規劃類別的設計必須在2020年8月1日至2023年7月31日之間完成並獲得客戶接受。
  
  
• Nominations under the “Research / Publication” Category must be accepted by the client commissioning the project or published between: - 1 August 2021 and 31 July 2023.
  研究/出版/發表類別的設計必須在2021年8月1日至2023年7月31日之間完成並獲得客戶接受。
  
  * The nominated project shall in no way be associated with members of the jury panel.

Language 語言
All submissions must be in English. For submission in the Research/ Publication category, if the original text is in a language other than in English, a translated English version must be provided and will be used for the award assessment.
所有類別必須以英文提交。對於研究/出版/發表類別的提交，如果原文不是英文，則翻譯後的英文版本將用於最終評審。

Completed / Planned Project
參賽作品提交須知 - 城市設計大獎 – 專業組別已實施/概念規劃

1. There is no limitation in the Urban Design project size or scope.
   參賽的城市設計專案在性質與規模上不設限制
   
   
2. Submissions must be presented in two display panels (One sided, A2 - Landscape format). Boards shall be aligned for display from top to bottom, (not left to right) as shown below. The panels should be flat, without projections and trimmings.
   兩個A2 尺寸的顯示面板（單面，橫向形式）、所遞交的兩個顯示面板應從上而下對齊展示，請勿從左到右展示，如下圖所示。 顯示面板應該是平面的，沒有任何投射和裝飾物。
   
3. Boards should NOT contain information highlighting the nominees, the consultants, the project owner or project proponent.
   顯示面板不應包含被提名者、顧問、項目持有者或項目倡議者的信息
   
   
4. It is the responsibility of the participant to have acquired the consent from the Project Owner for taking part in the Award. The participant also agrees that the HKIUD has the rights to publish the submission and its content for the purpose of promoting HKIUD.
   參賽者須確保項目持有者已獲通知並同意該提名。項目之參賽者亦同意香港城市設計學會擁有其參賽作品及其內容的出版權，以作學會及大獎之推廣用途。
   
   

Nominees are required to upload the submission documents to a shared drive of their choice and then email a downloadable link to cherry.lau@hkiud.org with the subject name marked as “2023 HKIUD AWARDS - and the CATEGORY ”. (For example - 2023 HKIUD AWARDS - RESEARCH). Submissions should contain a digital copy of the completed and signed Nomination Application Form in pdf format and all the documents and digital files of the required two entry panels (Resolution not less than 300 dpi, pdf file size of the two panels not larger than 20MB in total.
參賽者請上傳文件至個人網上雲端並將其連結電郵至 cherry.lau@hkiud.org， 標題為「2023年香港城市設計學會城市設計大獎 - 已實施項目或概念規劃類別」，內含PDF格式的填妥及簽名作實的提名表格、表格內列明的所需檔及項目的兩個顯示面板圖像之電子檔案（圖像的解像度不少於300 dpi，兩個顯示面板的PDF格式檔合共不可大於20MB。

Research / Publication 研究 / 出版/發表

1. There is no limitation in the Urban Design project size or scope.
   參賽的城市設計專案在性質與規模上不設限制。
   
   
2. Research can be presented as an academic paper, academic report or as a published consultancy investigation.
   研究可以以學術論文、學術報告或調查報告的形式提出。
   
   
3. Academic research should identify and address contributions in urban design in a systematic manner with consideration to timeframe and resources. Evidence of literature review is required for academic publication.
   研究應在考慮時間框架和資源的情況下系統地確定對城市設計的貢獻。 需要進行文獻綜述。
   
   
4. Academic research must be investigative as well as generative.
   研究必須是調查性的和生成性的。
   
   
5. For academic research, the methodology must include rational argumentation that meaningfully connects answers to questions i.e. methodology proposed must be argued as to how they will help to answer the research questions and sub-questions.
   研究方法必須包括將答案與問題有意義地聯繫起來的理性論證，即所提出的方法必須論證它們將如何幫助回答研究問題和子問題。
   
   
6. Research may be presented in hard copy as a full paper or a summary report of not more than 8,000 words.

7. Publication may be in the form of educational, illustrational, investigative, or representational material. There is no restriction in size or length, print or digital publication, however the material must have been published by an independent third party.
   出版物可以是教育性、插圖性、調查性或代表性材料的形式。 大小或長度、印刷或數字出版沒有限制，但材料必須由獨立第三方出版。
   
   
8. Publications may be submitted as follows: - a) full, original copy; b) summary report of not more than 8000 words (not including abstract, list of illustrations, tables, bibliography) and in A4 format;
