Urban design is key to the future of sustainable, liveable, healthy and happy cities globally, and Hong Kong as a city a global city in China and at the heart of Asia has much to contribute to the field. HKIUD is committed to international fellowship to further these goals, and to this end, has pursued the development of links with urban design institutes around the world in order to share experience and best practice and to support professional and academic development. HKIUD is a founding member of the Greater Bay Urban Design Alliance (GBAUDA), and Memoranda of Understanding to agree to mutually hold and promote events have been signed with a number of urban design institutes:
