The Joint Institutes Inaugural Meeting for the Northern Metropolis Forum 4.0 was successful held on 18 July 2026 held at the Hung Shiu Kiu / Ha Tsuen Community Liaison Center with nearly 70 professionals from six professional institutes in person and online.

The Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design, Hong Kong Institute of Architects, Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects, The Hong Kong Institute of Architectural Conservationists , Hong Kong Institute of Planners and Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors jointly organise the Northern Metropolis Forum 4.0 which would be held on 5 Sep and 24 Oct 2026.
In the Joint Institutes Inaugural Meeting, the six institutes shared their statements on NM development, covering topics such as urban design guidelines, nature-based solutions, heritage conservation, urban-rural integration, talent attraction, and sustainable development approaches. The presentations highlighted the importance of balanced development, environmental stewardship, and cross-disciplinary collaboration in shaping the future of Hong Kong's Northern Metropolis as part of the national 15th 5-year development plan.
