We are pleased to announce that the HKIUD (www.hkiud.org) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Indonesian Institute of Urban Designers (IARKI: www.iarki.or.id) on 14 February 2026 to foster future collaborations that benefit members of both institutes. On this occasion a hybrid event was held, a webinar themed “Shaping Better Cities through Urban Design” with about 60 participants.

Mr. Sibarani Sofian, Founder and Director, URBAN+, President, IARKI shared the Masterplan and development of Nusantara, Indonesia's new capital, Dr. Sujata Govada, CEO and Managing Director, UDP International, Chairperson, Programs and Events Committee, HKIUD shared the Urban Design and Architectural Guidelines of Amaravati, designed to be a "People's Capital", is being developed as the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh, India and Mr. Anthony Cheung, Director, Ronald Lu & Partners, Vice President (Local Affairs), HKIUD shared the Northern Metropolis development in Hong Kong's northern New Territories. The panel was moderated by Charles Li, Vice President (External Affairs) and was followed by an interesting discussion during the Q&A session. This is just the beginning of our collaboration and we look forward to more collaboration and participation of members from both institutes in the future.
