Mr. Barry WILSON, President as keynote speaker attended the 1st International Symposium on Urban Futures organized by Urban Systems Institute and the Department of Urban Planning and Design, the University of Hong Kong on 22 August 2024. HKIUD was one of the supporting organisation.
The event provided an essential platform to explore visionary concepts, best practices, and multi-stakeholder collaboration strategies for envisaging and creating vibrant, resilient, livable, and diverse urban futures. This symposium was dedicated to fostering forward-thinking visions, policies and innovative planning and designs by connecting academic research with practical applications. Through exchanging bold and visionary ideas and examining global examples of successful, vibrant, and livable urban districts arising from large-scale development initiatives, it was anticipated that scholars, policymakers and all stakeholders would benefit substantially from these fruitful discussions and exchanges and hopefully help reshape the urban futures of Hong Kong and wider regions.
