Like all major cities, London faces multiple challenges from rising air pollution and chronic disease to economic competitiveness and climate change. Transport will play a key part in the solution to these systemic challenges. Shifting thinking from 100 years of car-centric design to a model that prioritises public transport and active travel is not an easy task.
