Background
The aim of the HKIUD Programs and Events Committee (PEC) is to offer more opportunities for members to be proactively engaged and actively involved with the institute while learning about key urban issues and projects transforming the city. The PEC will organise events such as city talks, neighbourhood walks, building, heritage precincts and Harbourfront tours, site visits, panel discussions, workshops and public forums etc throughout the year in Hong Kong and the region.

Terms of Reference

1. To organise events and programs on a regular basis offering opportunities for members to participate throughout the year.
2. To coordinate with events organised by other committees to avoid duplication of events of similar nature or clashing of time.
3. To ensure that members are proactively engaged and more actively involved by participating in a diverse range of programs and events offered by the Institute.
4. To actively seek sponsorships for the programs and events organised to supplement the cost of organising the Institute’s programs and events.
5. To market upcoming programs and events by E-mails, Website and Social Media Platforms as well to attract participation by members and non-members as well.
6. To regularly update the events on the Institute’s website and through social media both before and after the events.
7. To strengthen the communication of the Institute to the general community and the wider public.
8. To inspire more members to join the Institute and the PC and learn while helping to organise events and activities for the Institute.
9. To provide a platform for members to grow professionally by learning from others and sharing experience, knowledge, expertise and insights.
10. To enhance the image and identity of the Institute and its role in the sustainable development of Hong Kong and the region as well.
