Urban Design Awards 2018 The Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design (HKIUD) Urban Design Awards are held every two years to recognise urban design related projects with outstanding performance and contributions in promoting excellence in Urban Design. The awards are divided into a Built Project Category and a Plan / Concept category. This year, we have received a total of 27 submissions for the 2018 HKIUD Awards. 8 of the submissions are from the Built Project Category. The adjudication was held on 9 August 2018. The Institute would like to thank all the Jurors for their Professional Adjudication in selecting the submission which include 2 Grand Awards and 2 Merits for the Built Project category, 1 Merit and 2 Special Citations for Plan / Concept (Local Projects) category, 2 Merits for Plan / Concept (Non Local Projects) category. We are very honoured to have Mr Chi Keung HON, GBS, JP, Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) and Prof. Rebecca Chiu, MH, JP, Head of Department of Urban Planning & Design, the University of Hong Kong to present the awards to all the winners. Congratulation to all the recipients. Urban Design Awards 2016 The Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design (HKIUD) Urban Design Awards are held every two years to recognise urban design related projects with outstanding performance and contributions in promoting excellence in Urban Design. The Awards are divided into Built Project and Plan / Concept categories. The 2016 Awards have received a total of 20 submissions. The adjudication was held on 21 July 2016. The Institute would like to thank all the Jurors for their Professional Adjudication in selecting the submission which include 1 Grand Award and 1 Merit for the Built Project category, 1 Merit and 1 Special Citation for the Plan/ Concept (HK Projects) category, and 1 Grand Award and 3 Merits for the Plan / Concept (Non-HK Projects) category Jury Panel included: Prof. Nelson Chen, Prof. Rebecca Chiu, Dr. Jianxiang Huang, Mr Shuki Leung and Hon.Tony Tse. The Award Presentation was held on 5 September 2016. Prizes were presented by Mr. Wai Chi Sing, GBS, JP, Managing Director of the Urban Renewal Authority. The awards has divided into Built Project and Plan / Concept categories. Total of 34 submissions were received. The adjudication was held on 19 August 2014 and Jury Panel included: Mr. Nicholas Brooke, Prof. Leslie Chen, Prof. Puay-Peng Ho, Hon. Wai Kwok Lo and Prof. Chris Webster. The Annual General Meeting and Award Presentation was held on 16 September 2014. Dr. Peter Cookson Smith was elected as new President. Prizes were presented by Mrs. Carrie Lam, Chief Secretary for Administration of Hong Kong Government and Prof. Chris Webster, Dean of Faculty of Architecture, HKU.
