"NEW URBAN MOBILITY" HKIUD International Webinar (3)
Our streets – the outdoor rooms of our cities – affect our physical and mental health.
Despite much practical research about the need to incorporate placemaking objectives into the configuration of urban thoroughfares to realise a broader public realm function and enable human activity, the integration of these objectives into planning and design remains constrained, and this is particularly so in the urban areas of Perth in Western Australia. As such urban designers, architects and transport practitioners, have a responsibility to create streets that deliver better health outcomes. In this session, we’ll hear from two presenters on what we can do to create healthier streets.
