Retrofitting all the streets in Sweden: a mission-oriented approach to transforming mobility systems in the context of our shared urban challenges
"Retrofitting all the streets in Sweden: a mission-oriented approach to transforming mobility systems in the context of our shared urban challenges"
Professor Dan Hill will present a case study of his urban design-led approach to mission oriented innovation, when working as Director of Strategic Design at Vinnova, the Swedish Government’s innovation agency. Working both at the street scale and the national scale simultaneously, the Swedish 'Street Moves' mission is now in play across numerous cities. The project approach develops participative design and ownership patterns, ensuring streets are reoriented around culture, conviviality, biodiversity, public health and other original purposes for streets. Dan will place this work in the context of similar street transformations, worldwide.
